About Us

About Kushite Arts

Kushite Arts Organization is a Minneapolis-based, youth-driven arts organization established in Minnesota in 2021. We bring together artists, young creatives, and community members to celebrate cultural identity, encourage artistic expression, and create meaningful public art experiences.

Our work includes large-scale murals, cultural art projects, exhibitions, creative workshops, and community engagement activities. We create opportunities for artists to share their talents, connect with their communities, and contribute to a more welcoming, vibrant, and inclusive Minneapolis.

Rooted in East African cultural heritage and open to all backgrounds, Kushite Arts believes that art can build bridges between communities, inspire young people, preserve cultural stories, and transform shared spaces into places of beauty, belonging, and connection.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower youth and artists through creative expression, cultural preservation, and community engagement. We provide opportunities for emerging artists to showcase their talents, participate in public art projects, share their cultural stories, and contribute to positive change in their communities.

Through murals, exhibitions, workshops, and collaborative art activities, we strive to make art accessible, celebrate diversity, and inspire the next generation of creative leaders.

Our Vision

We envision a world where every young person has the opportunity to discover their creativity, every artist has a platform to share their voice, and every community is represented through art.

Our vision is to build a future where art brings people of different cultures and backgrounds together, public spaces reflect the stories of the people who live there, and creativity becomes a lasting source of unity, opportunity, healing, and community pride.

Supporting young people goes beyond teaching art techniques. We create opportunities for youth to discover their talents, express themselves, build confidence, and connect with positive role models.

Through collaborative projects, workshops, exhibitions, and community activities, we encourage young people to stay motivated, engage with their education, and explore their future possibilities. Our approach is centered on encouragement, creativity, mentorship, and opportunity: young people's voices, ideas, and talents matter.

With roots in East African culture and a commitment to representing the many backgrounds that make up Minneapolis, we use art as a bridge between people and generations.
